Is Gratuity Included in the price?
No. Gratuity is customarily 20 percent of the charter price given to the Captain after the charter to disperse to his crew. Of course, a wonderful day had by all is the barometer for tipping percentages.
What’s included in the price?
YACHTFISH provides everything required to catch fish, along with ice and water. We pre-fish for live bait before your arrival and have top of the line equipment. All licenses are covered. We will clean and ice your fish if you want to take it home.
How many people can go on the charter?
Depending on the boat, it can be 4 to 6 Guests. A comfortable number is 4 for inshore and 6 for offshore. Accommodations can be made for larger groups in multiple boats.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. $100.00 is required for inshore and $200.00 for offshore when the reservation is made.
Is my deposit refundable if I cannot make the trip?
Yes, a 10 day notice is required prior to your reservation date.
What happens if there is bad weather?
The Captain will reschedule your charter or refund the deposit in full if he foresees unsafe conditions.
How long does the charter last? When do they start?
There are 4, 6 or 8 hour charters for inshore and 6 or 8 hour charters for offshore. Your Captain will advise you where and when to meet prior to the trip. Tides, time of year and fish targeted will have a bearing on the exact location and departure time. Departure in the morning is usually between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Afternoon half day charters leave around 1:00 p.m.
Are there places on the water to eat?
There are fabulous places for lunch when fishing inshore. If this interests you, please make sure to request this when making your reservation.
Can YACHTFISH assist with accommodations?
Yes, we are glad to help. We know the area quite well.
What should I bring on my Trip?
YACHTFISH will advise you prior to your trip what type of clothing to bring depending on the weather. Food, beverages, camera and a hat are the basics.
Are alcoholic beverages or smoking allowed?
Yes, but no glass on the boat and everything must be legal.
Are children allowed?
Absolutely! We encourage it. What a great way to spend quality time with the kids. Use your own judgement regarding length of trip and age.
Is sea sickness ever an issue?
If you are not sure if you get sea sick, ask your pharmacist for a recommendation just in case.
What type shoes should I wear?
Rubber soled. No black soles please.
