We're Filling Coolers with Grouper & Snapper on Our Deep Sea Charters

Table of Contents

We’ve recently been out deep sea fishing and filling our coolers with loads of trophy-sized Grouper and Snapper! These big beasts are hungry and biting, giving the Guests on our deep sea fishing charters memories that last a lifetime.

Deep Sea Fishing Season from St Pete Beach

This is deep sea fishing time of the year!

Thankfully, that big ol’ Gulf of Mexico contains a lot of great secret fishing spots to snag that perfect catch, providing a great meal that can be prepared just for you back at the dock!

Deep sea fishing makes for a great day out; it’s just you, the sun, the ocean and the mystery of what lurks below!

Here’s what we’ve been catching recently on our deep sea charters:

Giant Grouper

Grouper are the beasts of the ocean. They’re brutes. They bottom feed and like deep water ledges, so we have to head out to deep waters on our deep sea fishing charters.

Using live bait and heavy-duty rods and reels, we’ve been filling our coolers with these monsters after unforgettable fights.

You’ve gotta be quick! If you’re not, they’ll take your bait and go straight under a ledge.

  • Black Grouper: Up to 48 inches and 180 pounds! Most often, we find them at 40 lbs.
  • Red Grouper: Up to 42 inches and 50 pounds. Most common: 15 lbs.
  • Scamp Grouper: 12-42 inches.
  • Gag Grouper: Up to 36 inches and 50 pounds. Most common: 25 lbs.
  • Yellowfin Grouper: Most common: 20 lbs
  • Goliath Grouper: Up to 8ft and 800 pounds!

Snapper

We recently had a father and son come out with us as a bonding experience. They ended up having one of the most thrilling battles we’ve ever seen with a couple of huge Red Snappers.

They’re so freaking fun. With a wild fighting spirit, Snapper head to the bait fast. Then they make you work, shooting all over the place.

Fear not, Snapper are suitable for beginners and experts. So if you’re looking for an action-packed day out this summer, why not come deep sea fishing with us?

Red Snapper are also delicious with their flaky, flavorsome meat making for the perfect meal when you return to shore.

Think You’re Brave Enough for Grouper?

We’re not exaggerating when we ask this. Grouper might give you the toughest fight of your life.

But WOW, it’s worth it! Imagine reeling in a huge 30 lbs or more of flavorful Grouper!

Now that’s a photo you can show the grandkids.

Our deep sea charters are for making memories. Whether it’s alone with our Captains, with your buddies or your kids, it’s definitely a bucket list experience.
