Things To Do In St Pete Beach During The COVID Pandemic

Looking for things to do in St Pete Beach during the COVID pandemic is tiring and frustrating. From social restrictions to mask-wearing and the stress of asking if you’re being safe and responsible, we all just wish it would end.

Sadly, this virus hasn’t left us just yet. But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a bunch of safe and enjoyable activities you can enjoy in St Pete Beach. Here are our suggestions of things to do in St Pete Beach during the COVID pandemic:

Take a St Pete Beach Fishing Charter – Fresh Air!

Yes, we’ll toot our own horn here. Go fishing!

Our fishing charters give you the chance to have real FUN again! Out on the open water with a small group of family or friends, this is a bucket list experience.

It’s just nature and an abundance of fresh, flowing sea air. Minimal risk of COVID and best of all – minimal risk of stress.

This is your chance to completely forget about the pandemic. On the water, you’ll be detached from everyday life. It’s a true escape!

St Pete Beach is the year-round home to one of the best inshore fishing and deep-sea fishing destinations in the country!

From the 3,000 acres, Weedon Island preserve to the massive adventure grounds of the Gulf of Mexico – there’s something for everyone, from kids to experts!

The fall Kingfish run is getting ready to happen soon, so book in advance to avoid missing out!

We’re COVID Careful

We take COVID precautions very seriously. Every inch of the boat is cleaned before and after our bookings, so you enter a safe and germ-free environment. We also provide hand sanitizer if required and keep our groups private and to a minimum – so it’s just your bubble and the captain.

Beaches Are Open and Free!

Beaches are another great option for fresh air, relaxation and fun.

The beaches throughout St Pete and Clearwater are open, with parking lots and restrooms available too.

The CDC recommends keeping six feet or more between other family groups, but with no need to wear a mask, this is a great opportunity for you to sit back and relax, or hit the water.

  • For family fun: Head to Upham Beach Park
  • For a resort-style day-out: Head to Tradewinds Island Grand Resort
  • For a laid-back vibing day: Head to Pass-a-Grille Beach

Taste The Beaches

For the food enthusiasts, you could also check out ‘Savor Taste of the Beaches’ – a week-long event across multiple restaurants. You buy a ticket then turn them in at different beach restaurants throughout early October.

Or of course, you could make a delicious catch on our St Pete Beach fishing charters and then take it to a nearby restaurant, where they’ll prepare it for you – a truly unique meal.

Escape to a Park or Preserve

Alternatively, parks and nature reserves are easily some of the best things to do in St Pete Beach during the COVID pandemic.

George C. McGough Nature Park, for example, is a short drive from St Pete Beach that will provide you with a tranquil city escape, with a great aquatic turtle population that you can see from a deck and boardwalk.

Sunday Markets

Corey Avenue Sunday Market is a weekly event with over 75 vendors selling local fresh ingredients and food, local crafts and live music! All outside and open during the pandemic,

St. Pete Walking Mural Tour

Finally, let’s throw in something unusual that gives you a taste of St. Pete in a way you might otherwise never experience – Mural tours.

These small group tours will show you the very best local art in the Central Arts District in Downtown St Pete. All outside in fresh air, so a unique thing to do in St Pete Beach during the COVID pandemic

We had a great inshore trip with Ethan on 3/14/23. We didn’t spend the entire trip driving around and caught fish wherever we were. Personally, I think these trips are best when you have a captain that’s vocal and interactive. One that wants to have... read more

Patrick and Sam were awesome. Got us in the fish in no time. They were more than accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There were 5 of us on the boat besides them and everyone spent ample time reeling in the fish. Easily caught our limit. Thank again Patrick and Sam.... read more
